I agree with Vic, even looking at carbon fiber, you can get a concentric rod, glue an end on it, drill a hole or two and you are all set.

Call the Plugger Rod guy, I bet he would make one for you if it was an issue...

I just bought a 3 piece Excal rod from him, ridiculous quality.
