I Looked up the word nary( bottom of border page 41), and it said:

I looked on "www.answers.com", an online dicionary. Try this instead. I'm not saying your reference is bad, just that I've always had good luck with this site. (also check out "www.dictionary.com" as well, they are both good.)

Not saying your refrences are bad either, but in the dictionary I used it said NARY meant missing.

Maybe it's :
"An even Code" + on(e) part nary
BI + NARY
*Binary*
And the crazy on or one is saying that the "ON" part of the code ,The 1...is 0.
An inverted binary code!
Seems plausible to me....but then we all see what we know, don't we?
