Awards
I would like to talk about the awards being posted underneath members profile. It seems we tried something like this once before and due to overwhelming complaints it was removed. Why are we trying this again?
Members that complained last time said that we are not in a contest to try to outdue one another. The banner is great and we can all see who has found what lately because its on the top of the page.
I would just like to hear opinions or a simple yes, I like it or no, I dont. I would like to put this up for a vote but I dont know how.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Re: Awards
None of it ever mattered to me... it's all about sales and coolness and neat-o stuff that folks can see and work towards and get motivated by. Or, conversely, get jealous about and whine about.
It's eye candy - some like and some don't, and some could care less.
I voted that I like it because I think it's good for the site, but personnaly could care less.

Re: Awards
I voted yes. I like it because it's cool to see someone has made banner. If you missed it you can go to the banner finds and check it out. It's an award and the people that have made banner deserve it. IMHO
Thanks for this post Bigcy.

Before it was about Personal Opinions of Members
& Since everyone could Vote There was alot of
Judgement Votes. Which turned Voting into attacks in
some Cases.
These are About the Banner & Doing Good Deeds.
IF The public at large Sees us
the Members who Do Good Make us Look Good.
& Deserve an Award in My Opinion.
discriminate out Spike TV and American Diggers !

Thanks Jeff for your opinion and I agree that the good deeds deserve an award, like when someone returns a class ring. But all the awards are not about doing good deeds. The banner is a place where a Washington Inaugural button may not make it but a common Chinese Cash coin may get you a reward. We have all made great finds at one time or the other, if we have been detecting long enough. The banner is great "eye candy" but Im afraid posting the awards under the avatar makes those with the awards look somehow "better" than the other members. It may make some members feel "left out" and possibly turn this into a spitting contest of sorts.
Thank you for explaining and I realize the vote means nothing but I wanted to hear other members opinions. Thanks again.

Re: Awards
Yes the Banner is a Selection of the
Finest Finds, But, not necessarily
all of them get put up there.
example IF Somone Found a Gold Posey Ring Today
it Wouldn't Make the Banner, Because 2 of the same thing up
there makes no sense.
discriminate out Spike TV and American Diggers !

Re: Awards
Sometimes its the luck of the draw. The Honorable Mention Awards for good deeds are great IMO. Ive made a decision on the banner awards as well. I guess they are OK.
I would like to see how others feel about it so keep voting. I dont think anybody reads this thread anyway lol.
