IRT Deadliest Roads ?
Anyone watch it Yet ?
http://www.history.com/shows/irt-dea...roads/episodes
Ice Road Truckers Alex Debogorski, Rick Yemm, and Lisa Kelly make a living driving the deadly ice roads of North America, but they've never seen anything like this. To prove they're the best drivers in the world, the truckers head to India to take on the extreme mountain roads of the Himalayas. As Lisa battles the heat and struggles to make the transition from Alaska, Alex slams into not one, but two vehicles out on the crowded roadways. Rick risks a head-on collision with multiple buses that refuse to give up an inch of road as they fly toward him at top speed
Looked Deadly
Does anyone have License over there ?

Re: IRT Deadliest Roads ?
I didn't watch that episode but I have seen the show a few times. Kinda nuts. I've never even driven a car on an icy road in my life. It must be wild.

Saw parts of it last night. One trucker quit and flew home. It seems your horn is the most valued and used device on your vehicle.

THC won't be happy until someone dies. It is beyond me what any of these shows have to do with 'history'.

TV is not about teaching, or history, or anything like that. It's about selling advertising. Whatever draws the viewer to watch and see the ads and buy the new cars and toothpaste for white teeth is what gets aired. TV and radio has no other purpose but to sell product. None.

I Don't remember ever Buying anything Because
of a Commercial.
I Know there are alot of people Who
can't Control their
Buying Habbits though.
& Probably even Google the lame Produts
advertised.
I Buy Cheap & Generic & only what I Need.
As far as Ice road truckers,
I Have no intrest in watching
it. I'v driven on Ice & It can
be done but is dagerous.
Plus there was Little Traffic out there.
IRT's Deadlest Roads was Good though.
the Traffic made things Insane
& I Can't wait for part 2
Although I Know they won't Die
IF They did during Filming it would
be all over the news & Not fit for
Family Viewing.

of Wood, on the left side,
while your sitting on the right,
With Cars Comming around the corner
passing each other & Busses
Flying towards you on your right,
at the same time
Has to be a trip

Re: IRT Deadliest Roads ?
Advertising is subliminal. It's about branding your brain with a product that will seem familiar later on when you are shopping. Even cheap knock-off brands advertise this way. No person, not me or you, is untouched by advertising. Just because you have not purchased product X because you saw it on Ice Road does not mean they have failed to score. You retain the image and it will sway you later on at some moment entirely removed from TV or a particular show.
Without advertising there would be no TV or radio or even this forum. Just look up above at the sponsor's logos. We are being pre-loaded to buy one of those makes. Nothing wrong with this. It is not evil and it does not make you stupid. It makes you human. I first bought Tesoro based solely on their advertising. I saw many adds and read many good things. They got me. (and I'm happy about it)

Re: IRT Deadliest Roads ?
Jeff,
Their is no possible way I would drive on the roads they were. I swear I had to change my socks a minute ago after watching it because my feet were sweating because I was nervous.
Good show though, I like watching TV online because of no commercials.
Thanks for sharing, I'll be sure to watch it next time.

Re: IRT Deadliest Roads ?
I can see how they average a death
every 4 1/2 minutes on that road
the way the locals drive it.
Good thing there is over a billion
people over there.
I'd think twice about even walking accross
that bridge & Wonder how many truckers
fly accross it.
All the horns blowing all the time
is a distraction too.
a million vehicles on the road
& Driving like drunk kids in Bumper Cars
at Hershey park
Would be an awsome relic hunt
along the bottom of the cliffs !
Gotta be tons of money etc. in the Rocks
below.

Re: IRT Deadliest Roads ?
I watched it once, as far as i'm concerned a person would have to be half crazy and slightly suicidal to drive those roads everyday. Then again I don't like heights, especially when you add idiot locals, crumbling roads and rockslides on the edge of a deadly cliff in an overweight vehicle.

Yes for the Most part, When I First
saw pics of those roads, I Thought
Hey, I'd like to drive them.
No worse then driving the Stripping pit roads around here.
But when I saw all the Traffic,
& Bus Drivers with a death wish
Not my Cup-O-Tea
