Hoarders
I was on A & E's website and found this show called "Hoarders".
At first I thought it would be a show about folks hoarding antiques to sell and what not, but now I found out compulsive hoarding is considered a mental illness that over 3 million people suffer from. I may be in denial but I don't think I'm one of the three million, but I'm also not going to let my Wife see this show.

Re: Hoarders
There was a house down the street from me ,that could have been on that show, the lady and the man had gotten a divorce and she got the house, with everything in it.Well this past summer'2010,she decides to sell the house and tries to throw the stuff/trash away, she called that 1 -800-got junk company, and they refused !
She had so much crap in the house and the garage, that she needed a truck to deliver those roll-offs that you put all that crap in.Her nextdoor neighbor and me spent 2 weeks throwing stuff in those roll-offs,she got 6 of them to come to house for 2 months. This women had stuff everywhere, and some really weird stuff like pizza boxes-about 100 old boxes, every newspaper that our city printed for about the last 3 years, old teabags? and about 100 combs and brushes, some still in the package?
I also got to look in the attic,oh my god! ,that had so much stuff in it that the ceiling was bowing in some of the bedrooms.

Re: Hoarders
Never had the interest to watch that show, or intervention for that matter. It seems that a few here have already seen the real deal. Well, I know of 2 myself. Both are into collecting newspapers and books for some reason. They really don't have rooms, rather they have path's that are maze like to go from room to room. Sad....

Re: Hoarders
The condition of some of those homes is physically sickening to watch.
It is tragic but compulsively viewable all at the same time.
He who fears digging trash will dig no treasure.
