Mike was that the pictue oren had, I saw that picture before. but theres no reason for there to be a map in that area that has steps. and I have never seen any other maps of that area that have lots of steps . I don't think this map can just be pushed aside.because it is of the area.np ps they are the same maps of the same place and its not victorio peak.

Yes, that is one of Oren's many Pictures.

I can tell you that without a doubt, neither of those drawings look anything at all like the cave of steps, or the area around the cave of steps.

Regarding a gentleman named Oren Swearingen - Dad went to see him when I was about 17 years old I guess, about 1982. I know this for certain as I went with him, mostly to safeguard his person. He was getting older even then, and I did not know anyone we were meeting, or who might be waiting. I was pretty confident in my own ability with a firearm however, and intended that he and I would return, regardless of anything else. We did indeed go out as a group, and Dad showed a cave that had no steps or anything. This was expected however as a couple of soldiers had managed to rappel down an air shaft into a storage room shortly before, and said there was evidence of a cave in above when they explored. Of course like many such claims - they could not find their way back again..... Were they telling the truth? I do not know. I have no way to know if that was the right cave, or a similar cave close to the right cave. I know Dad thought well of Dr Swearingen, so I never got the feeling he was being purposefully deceptive with the gentleman, although with Dad one was never fully certain. However to my knowledge nothing was recovered from it. I will let folks make of that whatever they wish - I really have no answers other than what I have said.

The steps are NOT a stair case as one may imagine them to be when they hear the term steps

how it is laid out

The grade of the slope is very slight

the passage is long and the steps are wide and very shallow in height

some steps were about three to four feet in width and you would double step those

imagine a long sloping tunnel , meandering with curves in it

it is NOT a Man made dug tunnel

it is a Natural geological condition

thye walls of which are NOT picked by a tool

and this is NOT a Basalt formation as in Oren's photo

The cave of 1300 steps is more of what I would call a fissure , natural fissure not a mine

The cieling in certain palces has a distinct natural formation to it

and that is a color that does not match the walls .

The fissure was formed when the upheavel took place Aeons ago in time

all Natural as the shelfs show when you look at the range from above

that is a tip as to it's location .

The entrance is not low as in Orens picture

it is a Long Tall Crack and cannot be seen from the lower canyon because of the overlapping formation as is natural to this mountain range

Victorio Peak is a Basalt formation

where the cave of 1300 steps is located

I also want to thank you for posting about the strike mark and the omega. some time back on my other thread we were having a long discussion on the omega symbol, I am glad
to see someone else that knows its meaning. in the mnts along the Nevada side of the Colorado river there are three omega symbols , one is the full strike mark symbol,its in the center
of the other two, all can be found within 200yards of each other, each one has different types of petroglyphs and writing, at first was very difficult to understand,but I think the spirit took over
and for whatever reason helped me understand the true meaning,I have absolutely no reason to dig this up ,or disturb them in any way, they were put there for a reason. I am curious about
what you did not write about and why, there is more info associated with the strike mark or omega symbol, and what is around them, you had your own reasons for not mentioning them, so do I .

Not to say there is not one, just the location I was trusted with will not fit any treasure hunting style nor will you find it that way as I can see.
