Re: GOLD FOUND DO I KEEP OR PUT BACK

Well,

This is an "ick" story, but I was talking to a guy I know - the chances of a gold tooth (or anything else that has value), is not ever likely to make it to a crematory oven. (I did say "ick").

Apparently, it is illegal to pick things like gold teeth out of the furnace - but not illegal to take them out before. (go figure), and ashes are screened, in most states. (list this under "things I did not have to know").

Many people assume a body is cremated in the coffin - most people who are cremated are NOT in coffins, but, for those who are, (and for other incidents, like someone who had a metal pin somewhere in their body), those items are removed - either before cremation, or right afterwards, before the ashes are put in the bag that goes in the urn or where ever it is going. Most places that do cremations recommend NOT leaving in dental gold or any kind of jewelry, as it creates an issue after the remains are cremated.

It's not a cremated remain.

1. Hold the nugget in your hand, palm upward.

2. Toss the nugget into the air, straight up.

3. If God wants it, he'll keep it.

4. If it falls back down, it's all yours.

Moral: Keep things as simple as possible!

It's not ashes , any prospectors knows that natural gold will often be in the gray layer ------natural occurring deposit.found in creeks rivers ,ancient stream beds.n ..........dental gold is usually 10 kt. ,Oregon has some nice nuggets. go back get some of that material -pan it out -bet there's more around there......

"The Official Investors Guide, Buying, Selling Gold, Silver, Diamonds" states
16K . . . . 66.67 . . . . exactly two parts of gold to one part copper. No reaction
when tested by nitric acid. Usually most dental gold is 16K.

Unlike others here, I would suggest you put it back, but just so you know its safe, tell me where you put it, and I will make sure no one takes it!

What do you do with the coins that you find, put them back? They must have owners somewhere. You could turn them in to the local police, and they will surely give them back to the "rightfull" owner.

Keep it! There is no one for you to give it to, and if you put it back, someone else will probably eventually dig it up and keep it.
