    Seattle area hunting

My wife has a series of continuing education classes in April in the Seattle. They will be one day trips (from Vancouver) and I'll be driving her and then waiting while she is in class.

What are the general rules on hunting parks in Seattle? Permits needed, places to avoid, etc.

    thanks for the info.

    the response was deafening

We made 3 trips to the area - Seattle, Renton and Federal Way. Since I didn't know the area very well I just decided to focus on tot lots, so I got a map and my GPS and off I went. Got a fair amount of clad, a 14k earring and a 14k ring.

Every year, thousands of people gather together in and around the Stan Sayre's Pit area along the shores of Lake Washington to watch the hydroplane races.

at one time I searched the web pages out for Seattle Parks and found nothing on metal detecting in the parks. When I 1st got my detector, back in 1994 I called the Seattle Parks Dept. and they told me I could use my detector in the parks, but I could not dig

Digging usually requires the use of a shovel. Lifting a small patch of turf with a screwdriver to recover a coin or piece of jewelry is none destructive. Make sure you don't leave any holes. Meanwhile, if someone asks, you are just cleaning up the pull tabs and other debris from the area, and show them the junk in your bucket.........
