Hi, new to this forum. Just wondering if anyone has checked out the Black Hills near Olympia, WA located on state land called Capitol Forest? It's now a big draw for weekend ATV's and motorcycles. The land appears to have been logged off several times since the turn of the century. From what I can determine there where logging camps and a small railroad line in use at one time. Anyone interested or have information?

Found under a rock, in Washington State.
Detector(s) used
Garrett Scorpion, Garrett pro pointer
Waddell Creek is great for fine gold and a rare picker in the bunch.

There are a couple rock hounding spot on Capital peek itself, but I don't have a map handy for the rock locations. DNR library might be of help to you.

The parking areas might be okay, but a lot of the park is red clay. The clay is very slimey when wet. You won't find much along the trails.
