I would love to know more about this. Should I should pay the 75 for Dupont to give authenticity before I sell it. It is not fake, but I can't find out anything about what line or style. Some things you lug around for years. Glad I have this!!! The lighter is 5 and 1/2 inches very heavy! It's missing flint and fluid!

Thanks I just saw a similar one sell for quite a bit without the letters. I could easily see myself the last hour of the auction wishing I had. I'll use a little eBay money and get the verification!

Authentication papers would probably add quite a bit to the sale. More than the 75. I think that model is considered a table lighter.

Thanks, I did recently discovered it is a table lighter, thanks for the post! I'll apply for the paperwork early this week! I am excited to list it!

I sold a Dunhill rollor that's very much like that. The guy that bought it was in the Philippines. I noticed he sold higher end lighters also. I'd go on eBay and see if you can find some sellers who look to be selling mostly lighters and send them a note about yours. That thing looks pretty authentic to me. I never pay someone to do research on my finds. I went to an appraisal fair once and wasn't impressed with the appraisers as they couldn't answer half of what they were given to look at. Save your 75 bucks. The buyers will know what their looking at and pay up for it.

Well, the only difference is that he's paying the maker of the lighter for a genuine certificate. I would assume the company that produced the lighter knows a bit about it.. ;)

The site for the appraisal was not directly related Dupont. I could not upload my pictures and they sent me a refund. The Dupont site will refurbish it but it could be costly. All it needs is a flint and fluid. Im too nervous to send it to them. I would like to have paperwork to go along with the sale but will research it further.. I like your idea Tamrock of emailing a few collectors to see what they think. I will clean it up and get it working and list it soon. Putting it on Ebay will tell the tale of what its worth. Collectors are funny, I should do grate with this one. Thanks for the posts.
