Hi All,

This recently came into my work and I was immediately taken with it. The owner was told it was an old Spanish rosary chain, it has been tested to be at least 18K Gold and is unmarked and has no clasp- just one long chain. The filigree work is incredible and it does appear to have age.

I didn't know where else to ask but figured there would be some members here who have experience with old Spanish gold. Does this chain look similar to anything anybody has seen here before? It appears to have age and being unmarked is a good sign, but could it really be 18th Century?

I agree it looks new. There is no wear on it anywhere even on the links. Beautiful though...

It has definitely been polished up recently but agreed looks almost too nice to be very old. That being said, not sure why they would make it out of gold yet no stamp?? :icon_scratch:

It could be French Victorian 18k if so there will be an Eagles Head as the mark. I had a pocket watch chain that was 18k French Victorian and that was how it was marked. Took forever to find it as the mark was so small it looked like a dent but when the light caught it just right it was Clearly a Eagles head.
