“This coin was bought and sent to NGC for conservation. They professional did something to this coin. They do not call it cleaning when they do it because it was done by a professional or grading company. It was then put in an air tite case and sold. This coin is worth 1200 in G grade. The coin has Excellent detail and luster. You can still read the edge lettering on this coin and it is over 115 years old. Hope I answered your question and have a great day” IMG_2276.JPG IMG_2278.JPG IMG_2285.JPG

NGC not only cleaned it, they applied a nice chrome plating to it. Very generous of them!:icon_thumleft:

Is this a repop or do you mean 215 years old?

Even cleaned, retoned and plated 99's have sold at hefty prices. For example:
SEGS MS-62 Cleaned, retoned. Ex - Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc.'s "Philadelphia 2000 Signature Sale", August 6-7, 2000, Lot 5287, "B-9, BB-166", plated, sold for $6,612.00
Yet, I would not touch this coin without it first being professionally authenticated and graded. You mentioned the coin was bought. Mind if I ask what was the price and whether or not it was bought from a reliable professioal collector or some other source?
Don......

The whole thing is a lie. Those cases you can buy on Ebay by the dozen or the gross. This is not a graded coin. It is a fake. REAL graded coins come in cases that if you try to tamper with them, they shatter and cannot be put back together again.

None of the other 1799 silver dollars coins on ebay look like they have chrome plating on them. No others with a drilled hole.
You can buy plastic coin holders for $8.00 for 5 in a pack.
