    Gold Bar Petrified Wood Slab

Hello! This is a piece of pet wood from my grandpa's collection, which I have inherited. Think the actual plant fossil is the agatized middle and the outer green material is a fossilized matrix of some sort. I believe it's from either Arizona, Nevada, or Oregon, knowing my grandpa and where he obtained other petrified wood from.
Any information is greatly appreciated, especially the potential value of this piece.

    10" long x 5.5" wide x 3.5" deep
    Weighs 10 lbs.

Probably $25 - 30. Lapidary club near your might be the place to look. If it was slabbed 1/4 inch thick you might get more selling the individual slabs.

I did not invent FUN, however I have spent my life trying to perfect it!

I was leaning towards cutting it into a few slabs. So, I'm definitely going to take it to the local rock club's shop tomorrow to have them check it out. Thank you for your reply!

Its a nice rock but ugly. Like the others said to have value as anything more than a curiosity (which isn't a lot) you will have to dress it up by slabbing the best parts.
