Hi everyone! I picked this old watch up from an estate and was curious if it was worth having someone clean it up or if it wasn't a piece worth restoring.

Everything from the estate was 40s-60s, so guessing that's the age?

Seems with this brand they made everything from $20 cheapies to $2000 diamond encrusted art pieces. I just don't know where this one falls!

Thanks for the reply! The back is bare, but it does say Hamilton on the bottom edge and this on the top.

Yeah that one would clean up very nice and its all original I believe even the factory expansion strap Hamilton looks to have offered from the picture I found, which is not all that common to many watches that old. If it was mine I'd put a nice leather strap on and save the original. Those kind of metal straps grind into the inside of the lugs. I can see the crown looks original also. It's a nice find.

Nice one. A new crystal always makes the difference in the looks.

If a bezel is identified as "10k RGP," it means the metal plating is 10 karat rolled gold-filled. This type of layer contains less gold than solid gold or gold-filled items. A 10k rolled gold-filled covering is at least one-fortieth the weight of the entire piece of jewelry.

Although rolled gold-filled plate is not as lustrous as more dense gold, it is sturdy and should not wear off easily. Jewelry identified as 10k RGP is typically within a mid-price range.

I've contacted the person who restored that watch and will be sending mine to him for the same treatment :)

That's great that you're going to get it done. Looking forward in seeing the results when it's all finished.
