I found this last fall. The movement is a Elgin- 1890 but no idea when the case was made. It took a couple hundred to get it working and the diamonds are real.
Would like to find out what it is worth. I had a friend that is in the know tell me about 2 grand and the old man that worked on it 3-4 grand. I looked around on the net and saw some interesting prices!! Thanks for any help.

It was found with an Xterra-70 at what I think was a labor camp for a railroad in Arizona. It was just blind luck as I am still trying to learn the machine. It was in a jar about 8-10" deep, I am lucky I did not damage it as I broke the jar with my pick while I was digging it.

If you are bold enough to take the back off and read the serial number, I can give you an approximate age and value.
Or take it to a watchmaker and he should be able to tell you.
Very nice find! :headbang:

I'd keep it. worth the effort to restore it to working condition. You'll NEVER find another one like it.
