    Condom lid!

I did a little investigation on this piece and got a chuckle when I learned what it was. I seems that this is a lid for a condom container. They cost 50 cents which was alot in the 20th century when they were made to be reused! ewwww! lol Note: the names of the widows if you can see them on the bottom. Agnes, Mabel, and Beckie. makes you wonder what they passed away from! Thought youd like to see it. sage

    Re: Condom lid!

That reminds me of a funny story my father would tell

Back in the 40's he had a great uncle that worked for a condom vending machine company . His job was to stock and collect money from the machines in men's and women's restrooms in gas stations up and down the Maine coast . The thing is he never put any condoms in the ladies room machines , he just took the money out ....and kept it ! The women were too embarrassed to complain to the gas station owners that they didn't get their condom after putting money in .

Your's is in better condition than the one I found. Mine was the "Fun-Pak" brand, circa 1934.

A bar I went to in Az. had an alarm hooked up to the ladies room condom machine. Turn the handle and everyone knew.
