    "Crusty Pie"

Okay obviously these are related to pies . . . I am not a pie maker & doing a quick search on "Crusty Pie" led me to quite different information then I was seeking . . . I think they are neat & have a cool look to them but I do not know anything about them . . . .

are they referred to as a pie plate? or pie dish? or pie tin?

Any idea of the age? Company?

    Description:

    Top diameter 9"

    Bottom diameter 7 3/4"

    Depth 1/2"

Indented "CRUSTY PIE" , 16 indented "slots", 15 perforations on bottom

2 of the 3 have an indented number 1 ( shown in red square of pix )

    Thank You!

    Sage ~
Thank You so very much! Please tell your Mother-In-Law Thank You for me as well

    Mackaydon ~

Thank You so very much ! You know when I did my prior search I came across that company but I ignored them . . . why? I am ashamed to say this but in my narrow mindness I was just going on the assumpation that this tins were USA made. They have a cute lil site ( love the aprons ):
    http://www.crustypie.co.uk/
& even thou these styles of pies are not on my favorites I ejoyed the statements "This "ultimate pie maker" specialises in pork pies and chutneys. They also do sausage rolls and pasties.Delicious pies using fresh local ingredients"
I wrote them an e-mail to inquire about their tins, now will just wait & see if these are indeed theirs.

Thank You again to everyone who offered advice & suggestions!

    Happy New Year!

The holes allow the crust to be cooked more "crustier".

    My wife would love those.

    Re: "Crusty Pie"

This morning I just received a response from http://www.crustypie.co.uk/ . Their reply was as follows:

"Hi, no they were never ours, our company has been trading since 1990 but we have never had any tins made with our name on them. However if you are wishing to sell them please let us know how many you have and how much you want for them. Regards diane."

Thank You mojjax for the more famous pie tin link! I LOVE IT! When I first brought the pie tins in my oldest yelled out "FRISBEE" & then attempted to see if he could get it to glide across the yard . . . got a quick, nuh-huh don't think so buddy from me! I have had fun showing them to my kids & talking about inventions & what not!

Thank You GL for the info on the holes, I had read something along that line & am really glad you confirmed this . . .I had another tell me that "long before the 'cooking sprays', the indentations kept the pie crusts from sticking to the 'pie pan' " Which makes better sense to me then that being a guide line for the size of the slice you should cut ( wayyyy too small for this pie passionate! :P )

Again I thank everyone for your help! I still don't know very much at all about these pieces but I plan to keep pecking about . . . .

    Re: "Crusty Pie"

"Crusty Pie" may be the brand name of the pie tin rather than that of a commercial bakery. However, I did find the following listing:

    Crusty Pie Co.
    30 O Street NE
    Washington, DC 20852

The company does not appear in current business directories, but it appears to have been active at least as late as 1996.
    Forgotten but not gone.
