Re: TOKEN ID NEEDED/AND OTHER ITEM ?

You have a bar token from about 1900. It gives the name of the bar and the name of the town which is good. It does not say saloon which would make it better. There is a book on Idaho tokens but I don't have a copy or access to it so can't say if your token is rare or common. Back in the long ago drinks were two for a quarter. If you paid a quarter and took your drink you would get this for your change. They were also used as poker chips so they saw a lot of wear. Also commonly used were 2 1/2 cent tokens also for bars. Re: TOKEN ID NEEDED/AND OTHER ITEM ?

    Hi--
The Arco, Idaho token is from Robert B. Peck - he was the manager of the Walker Theatre in Arco in the early 1920s besides being the operator of a combination barber shop, cigar store, and billiard hall from about 1916 into the early 1920s.? There are a couple of very similar varieties.? The 12?? denomination was the price of a "good cigar" - since this is a post-prohibition token, it was not good for the typical 12?? whiskey drink of the saloon era.? The maker's mark is actually S. L. / Stamp / Co., the Salt Lake Stamp Company - they made a lot of tokens for southern Idaho customers.? Where did you find it? I don't have much of a clue on the other one.?
