    Jetton - Colonial???

I found this at a 1760's house where we've found quite a few Colonial
Coppers. This jetton is about the size of a large copper, but is VERY
    thin.
Obverse: SIEG UND LONN (OR LOIIN?) IETTON - Eagle image
Reverse: FOR IMITATION IETTON - Beehive image

German, precursor to the EURO to try and accomidate all the currencies in play in Europe, but the word "IMITATION" does not instill confidence.
America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

    Re: Jetton - Colonial???

Now that I have a better book on Jettons, I can say the following about this one:

Produced by Ludwig Chistian Laucer (of the Laucer Firm) mostly produced jettons in Weizengasse, Germany between 1842-1873.

Beehive with swarm of bees - IETTON, FOR IMITATION
Eagle Flying with olive branch in beak, on the ground crossed feather & olive spray. - IETON SIEG UND LOHN.

    Brass:
    Copper 64.1%, Zinc 34.9%
TOO BUSY TO DETECT, YOU'RE TOO BUSY!!!

How do you find Gold coins? Reply: 'By finding lots of Silver ones..'
