    What is this?

I have found 4 of these lead objects, with the British coat of arms, as well as 3 other ones which have a shield with three Fleur De Li's in it.? The picture of the back has a British Union Jack scratched into the metal. The area where these were found was occupied in the late 1700s.? Any ideas ?? Thanks? Lloyd Draper

    Re: What is this?

These items are made from lead but have a gilt or gold covering on them. Some of them were folded in half when I found them. Thanks for the question. Lloyd

I would venture to say they are buttons.

The scratches on the back are very symmetrical, possibly from the backing that held them.
