HELP IDENTIFYING MARINE BUTTONS
hi all!
found these 2 buttons at an old homesite.part brass and the front portion is hard black plastic.how old are these? on another forum somebody said they could be as old as 1860's?idk though.
a few other finds as well from this homesite.
any help woould be appreciated.

Looks like you found some very nice coins.The buttons I believe would be WWII here is a link that
shows a Uniform from WWII with plastic buttons that has the same design as your button.But how
ever that is just a guess going with the link.
Congrats on two nice displayable buttons.

yep it sure is.i knew it was and i think it's some sort of covered vase.or a bad version of a pot belly stove lol.pretty neat though.

Goodyear rubber buttons date back to the mid 19 th cetury
M.X.T , Tesoro Tejon 4"& 2.5" dredge with a little luck!!

The one example of a hard rubber button in Albert's , dated 1860s, has an imbedded iron shank. That's all I have to add.

The buttons appear to match the style and composition of Marine Corps buttons made of Black Plastic dating WWII era or later:
