What is this ?
Hi,
friend found this on an island beach near northern Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The island is in the path of early shipping through Torres Strait. Friend thinks it's a candle holder. Any ideas ?
Thanks HH

Re: What is this ?
Don't clean this to the metal. Patina is good, taken to metal bad.
It could be a candle holder.
And I will mention one other strange use for such, a scraper. The wide end. I doubt it due to the tapered thin tube, and the loop,
I go with the candle holder.

Re: What is this ?
Hi again,
I forget to mention that the metal appears to be brass. At least the colour suggests so.
