I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Any other clues you could give us? Maybe the type of area that it was found in for starters. I don't believe it has been melted. It looks whole and intact. I agree with BigC about some better/more photos. That scanner isn't doing any justice.

Sorry guys, I posted this for a computer-challenged friend. I'll try to find out more from him and let you all know. Now that it was mentioned, it does remind me of something to do with lightning rods. Part of a loom, sounds feasible as well.
