    Whats this? a gun tool?

    This was dug up on a homesite dating to the early 1800s. It is heavy metal and about 4.5 inches long, the piece sticking out the side is slightly curved near the end and the end is tapered to an edge like that of a screwdriver. Anybody have any idea?

    Its half of a snaffle,which is a type of Bit.The part that goes in a horses mouth......your steering wheel,or steering box rather....when horse back
