Solid Copper,,,,,Something??
Hello all
We recently moved to North Texas and finally found time to swing the coil. I was sniffing around an old and rather large oak tree when I got a good solid signal at 6 inches. This is what I pulled out. It is solid copper and about 8 inches in length. I was just wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what it is. See pics.

A real man thinks about detecting every 6 seconds.

hi folks. thanks for the responses. The only thing that has me puzzled is that the tip was made with the hook. it was not done by force. I do like the weather vane. any other ideas

I thought it was bent by force. However, I have seen lightning rods that are made this way. Here is an example.

Guess I'm too late to add that I also think it is a lightning rod.

Re: Solid Copper,,,,,Something??
I just realized that top pic I posted has a very similar bend to it. I guess that about wraps it up. No need to wait for the fat lady to sing.

Green check please. The fat lady has sung.
