Civil War button?

Having trouble I'ding this button... seems ive looked about everywhere but the right place to find it.. 2 piece with a weird shank that goes inside the button.. backmark is EXTRA QUALITY.. thanks Jeff

i think that is a more modern uniform coat button...

For police uniform coats...

I seem to remember my first nylon popo jacket had similar buttons...

Ok, thats a 'P' ? lol, i couldnt even tell what letter it was

Yes like others said, its a generic police button. The P in a wreath was used as far back as the 1800's.
