Found this on a walking path down by the river. Looks like it would belong to some clothing, some kind of suspender clip or something I have no clue ? It's just under 2 inches at it's widest point and about 1 1/2 inches tall. You guys have any idea ? Thanks

Not sure what kind of metal it is made out of, I can't make out any writing on it and the paint actually looks more like a glaze. It's not real clear but looks like some sort of a flower pattern on the front with green, red, blue, yellow, etc.

Probably half of the buckle. There would have been another piece with a hook to hook onto the loop on the dug piece. It's very likely the missing half looked like the half that was dug I'm guessing late 1800's -early 1900's for a time period

Yes, I think Scott and VaYank are correct in saying it's a Ladies Buckle, well 1/2 of a buckle. After doing a little doctoring on it, does anyone think there are 2 letters? A "C" and an "O"? Where is the writing located? Can you clean it?Breezie

(Buffing nails & saying 'you're welcome' LOL) I'd clean the back to see if there are any markings. Breezie
