    What does this mean?

Silver bracelet found today says "925 Italy and SU in an oval" The weight is about 18 grams and it is 8 inches long.
What does the 925 and the "SU" mean?
    What would this be worth?
    Thanks

I think SU in a circle is Italy's Sterling Silver mark. 925 silver is 92.5 % silver which is standard for sterling.

It appears the SU mark is found on sterling from several countries.

Think it might have been the mark for "Silver Unlimited", a now defunct sort of home shopping network jewelry supplier that was internet based.

Edit: Possible value? Here's a similar length bracelet (weight unknown) $85

About 34$ melt value - and judging from the crap on ebay, probably wouldn't get much more.

Could you explain silver melt down value so I will know. Looking at the spot prices above, silver is $17.81. How does 18 grams come to $34? I seem to be getting forgetful at my age.

So if I just toss all my silver finds in a box, at the end of the year I could just send it off to a refiner and get paid right?

Sorry, I happened to stumble upon this old post of mine, and had to laugh.
Don`t know what I was thinking when I wrote this but it converts to about 9$ (34$ )
sometimes I'm an idiot. For future reference though - http://www.silverrecyclers.com/Calcu...alculator.aspx
