saddle? seat cushion? I don't know what it is

picked this up at an estate sale. They didn't know what it was for sure or where it was from. They thought maybe Egypt or the middle east, as the original owner had a large Egyptian collection. Any Ideas?

Actually, it is very fine strands of leather.

It looks more Native American than Egyptian to me. It could be some type of burial pillow. Is the rest of the pillow leather? Breezie

Yeah, I listed it once, but wasn't sure where to list it, so it never really brought any attention. I saved the photos from the auction to my Netbook, as I didn't have the original files any more.


Breezie - yes it is all leather.

I thought it may be a camel saddle pad from the info they provided with possibly being egyptian, but like Breezie, I thought it looked more Native American in the designs.

Looks like mojjax nailed it, and speaking of . . .I would hate for the camel to slam on brakes with a saddle shaped like that; lol . . .Maybe someone can find a pic of it on a camel. Breezie

The second and third pics look some what Native American, but the first image doesn't to me.

Also, the design just doesn't seem quite right.
It just doesn't have the "umph" lol...something Native American would have
i.e. heavier leather, some bead work I would think would be in there somewhere and etc...
