Eagle button Id
This button was recovered here in Illinois on a old home site,I have seen simular ones on t-net and are said to be Revolutionary war peroid buttons,I have recovered 1 other rev. button in the county that I live in, that I had ID'ed here on t-net as rev. naval button. The only back mark is super fine quality, its about the size of a half dime.

Re: Eagle button Id
Do you think it's American or Mexican? It's definitely does not date to the Rev War.

Re: Eagle button Id
I'm not the button expert, but it reminds me of the pre-CW Louisana and local staff buttons. Breezie

Re: Eagle button Id
It looks like the drooped wing eagles I am finding but, the heads are turned opposite directions.
The Louisiana's Breezie speaks of has the head (Pelican) turned the same direction.

The funny part is if you combined both buttons in that link you'd probably have a match. It certainly points at it being Mexican but you can't say for sure, or date it properly. (matching backmark could dat eit though)

Kuger, I was thinking that too, which is why I said it looked like the Louisana buttons, but after looking at the Mexican comparison, it's probably not Louisana. Breezie
