Native American artifacts? Need some id help..
I'm posting these pics for my out of state friend. These were found along the bank of the TN river in Mississippi.
The stone looks just like the one that GopherDaGold recently posted.

I'm not sure about the pottery piece either.
What do you experts think? Could these possibly be artifacts?
Thanks in advance! - WIT

As soon as I saw the pic of what he called the "egg", I thought hey, I've seen something similar just yesterday!
This thread may be a good reason for him to start posting on the forum since he wants to start metal detecting as well.

The "rock",is a conglomerate,of an ancient river bed.Lime being in the soil creates a "cement".

Flask looks good for being N.A.
Rock is rock... conglomerate is rocks in mud or sand that turned to rock. Stuff like yours with lots o' pebbles is often called puddingstone.

I don't see that being Native American. It could be, but I doubt it... I'll be watching to see what arises...

Hello, i'm Wit's buddy from way down here in Mississippi and those photos are some that i've sent him. As soon as I can i'll get better pics up of both, as well as a few other interesting things i've found hiking.
In the meanwhile, any more info on these is appreciated.
PS: Thanks to WIT for introducing me to the site!

The pottery looks native to me.

The "EGG" is actually an Native American artifact. They used them as Grinding Stones for grain and other seeds. I have many of these some passed through my family and some I have found on my land. I will add it is very hard to find them both!

I don't think the "egg" is a Indian MONO.
It looks like a river rock stuck in a piece of
limestone.
It's an interesting find but don't think it is
man made.
I think the pot looks South or Centeral American
to me. It dosen't look coil built to me.
Neat find though.

I see what you are thinking, but I have to dis agree,I have nearly a hundred Mono's,or metates,or what my people call Chamaka rocks, and this one is not.It is a "natural cemented(Limestone) conglomerate, commonly found in areas of ancient Tertiary river channels,or extinct rivers.
