    ID old coin/medallion

Hey, all. Brand new here, someone on another forum suggested this site as a good place to ask this. Neat website!

Anyway, it appears to made of copper, no date or anything. Approx. 1.3" in diameter. Eagle with a star on it's chest on one side holding six arrows and a branch with what appears to be seven leaves. Th other side has the number 10 with lines radiating out of it surrounded by wheat. No date or anything, not sure if it's a coin, some sort of medallion, a necklace or what. It's got a bit of crust on the top that may have been a loop or a necklace or something along those lines, or it may just be corrosion from being buried, although it sure looks like a loop that was twisted off to me. A couple people have suggested that it may be some sort of Civil War era medallion; given it's location, it could possibly be related to the 10th OVI (?).

Its called a radiant eagle game counter. They're called "game counters" because they were used in much the same manner as poker chips or play money.

    BTW welcome to TN.

Wow, thanks so much, BCH! I've been looking for info on this for a long time now.
