Found this today, and I know it is a key to a clock or watch. What has me puzzled is the size of it. I thought maybe it was broken off, as the ones I have seen/found are usually bigger than this. But it is not broken.
No bigger than the quarter that is in the picture for reference. Did they make keys for watches? I thought clocks only.
I can understand why this was lost. Any ideas or comments? Thanks for looking and HH to all!!
Thanks for all the replies. It is threaded on the inside. So could be an alarm clock key. And yes, it seems to be made of copper. The area where I found it had a house on it, that is not longer there. The house was tore down in 1953. Thanks and HH to all.
Definite clock key. I'm more inclined to say a mantel clock than an alarm clock, though. Most alarm clocks have the key attached. My father has an old clock on his mantelpiece that uses a key just like that.
