can anyone Confirm and Age This Bolo
Found today in a Ball Field.
it's the size of a Quarter

Looks like a stylized rampant lion to me. I don't think it is a scout item.
Weren't these things popular in the 50's?

OK Cleaned a little better with
Liquid Wrench.
Tail Is curved, Not Shaped like a Paddle.
No Tongue sticking out but Does look Lion Like

Jeff,
After the WD-40 bath, were you able to see any markings on the back?
My first thought of a rampant lion is European mostly. But most all seem to be facing left.
Then, looking at the edge design, I'm almost certain that I've seen that on old coins.
Also, I'm not aware that Scouting use bolas. I thought they wore neckerchiefs?

Yes, scouts wear bolos. It's an option instead of the neckerchief.

although the green Patina appears mostly on
Lincolns from the teens Back to
indians in my area,
so it makes me hope older then 50's
