solved can someone identify this old button?

Not sure if this is a military button or just a piece of junk. I found it in the same area as some eagle buttons. thanks for any help! There is no back on the button.

This is about as close as I can find in Albert's button book, but I still don't think we have a match.

It looks to me like this one recently posted -- a civilian style:

Re: can someone identify this old button?

Sorry, its definitely NOT military. Its a very common civilian button made in a Navy motiff. This fashion design has been manufactured for about 100 years.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

How many early 1800's buttons have you seen with a tin backing?
The I.D. is correct. Late 1800's at best. Most likely 20th century.
    Cheers,
    Dave.
