i found this pin by a world war 2 dog tag. I am wondering if anyone know what kind of pin it is. It is just a little wider than a quarter and has a Z patteren across it, the pin on the back is still there

The type of pin on the back will help date it. A back pic can be most helpful. Looks wider than a half dollar.

Looks like a shoulder bar pin, a lot were made in Gold, but if you couldn't afford gold, polished brass would be the next best thing
