    "Beer & Poindexter - Richmond, Virginia" button ***SOLVED***

    O.K. Folks, I can't seem to find anything on this flat button back mark in my button books. Any ideas?
    The only thing that popped up on Google with those name was this - Page #24:

    All the evidence points to them being coat or clothing makers so I would guess that it is a ... mid 19th century suitcoat button.

    Edit- More precisely, they are listed as "Merchant Tailors" at 104 Main st. Richmond, Va. in the 1860 city business directory.
