    Brass marker?

I found this near early buttons and a 1734 coin. It is crushed but appears to have once been round. It looks like it would fit on a rod and point to something. The little holes appear to be for a pin. These are agricultural fields so it could be something from that type of equipment but it looks older.

Have seen that piece before...think it is off an old Percussion or Flintlock rifle fore stock.

It looks like the butt part of a ram rod guide...the part that's on the stock of the gun...just a guess.

Yup, ramrod guide where it meets the front of the stock. Usually a flintlock, but some flintlocks were adapted to percussion cap rifles, so that's difficult to say for certain.
