    "Tourist" Token

I found this last month at an old local school. Can anyone tell me what it is?

    "Tourist" Token

Charles Kappen's California Tokens catalog lists this piece - his entry says that the word "automobile" is incused into the tail of the last T in Tourist. Perhaps the Tourist auto was manufactured in Los Angeles and this was an advertising piece (not really a token) given out by the company. John in Idaho e-mail: tokens@idahovandals.com

There you go, Thonolan! Now you need to find the Tourist truck stored in an old garage so you can hang the token from the mirror on it. It would make an awesome metal detecting rig! John in Idaho

Thanks for the info, guys. It really is appreciated. I've been off-line for the last few months, otherwise I would have responded sooner.
