    Old Stone Tool?

Hi everyone. Been visiting this site for awhile now. Great site with a lot of cool finds. My Grandfather passed away years ago. He used to be a grounds keeper for a Golf Course. He would find lots of Indian Artifacts. When he passed my Grandmother gave some of them to me. This was in his collection. Anyone have a clue what it is? It is made of stone, about 1 1/2 inches long. It has a round end and tapered down to that end. In the first picture you can make out a grove along the left hand side. This grove or indentation runs around the whole piece. One end is rounded off, the other end is jagged. Thanks in advance for any help.

I agree, it sure looks like a pestle, but not for corn or nuts this is way too small for that. It most likely was for grinding paint pigments, medicines, or a shamen's tool for his practices.

    Nice piece,
