Solved - Hat Vent - Thank You Mothman!

Hi Again,

Need an id this thing. I believe I have seen it before, but I cannot place it. I am thinking it might be a humidity control type of grommet for a tent or tarp, but I am not sure. When I first saw it, I was thinking it was one of those things to rough up the rubber before attaching a patch on a tube or bicycle tire or a salt shaker lid, but it looks to attach like a grommet.

If I get an id, is there any way to date it?

Thanks for the id Mothman! I knew I a had seen it before. I went and pulled my had out of the closet and sure enough, it's the same.
