    Re: long service medal 1920

Maybe... Anglo American Oil Company Ltd . The small 'd' (abbreviation for Ltd.)after 'C' seems to add credence.
Possibly the recipient's name on the reverse. The first Standard Oil marketing operation outside the United States was the formation of Anglo-American Oil Company. Ltd. in 1888.
This company should not be confused with another of the same name formed in England in 1999.

    Re: long service medal 1920

The Anglo-American Oil Company Ltd was formed in 1888, a British affiliate of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust. This last was dissolved in 1911 following a ruling of the US Supreme Court, and over 30 independent companies resulted. One, Standard Oil, acquired AAOC. If you could find the historian for Standard Oil, you may get some information on J. J. Stiles.
