    Strange handle or ???

    Again sorry about the bad pics i broke my good camera in the woods a couple of weeks ago

    Found this at a cellar hole i have been hunting the last month or so pulling amazing finds from.

    The cellar was abandoned around 1880 and this was 10 inches deep..

    I would say it dates before that and to my amazement noticed it still has paint on it

    I never find relics with paint on them in these colonial cellars..
    It appear to have wood inside like maybe it was a tip to a flagpole


    Found it near a Rhode Island militia beautiful Civil war 2 piece button

    Very thin brittle material to thin for that..

    It really has gotten me thinking the top to a flag pole

    I have been looking at Civil war flags but have not seen a top like it

    Seeing i found it near my best Civil war find yet
