    It is Sterling, but what?

    Hello All,

    Dug this sterling piece today. I believe it is to small to be a napkin holder bit not sure. Oh sorry for the upside down Sterling mark. Thanks for looking and helping.

    I thought napkin holder, so out of ideas, although worth checking how small the diameter goes

    I think Sean is right. It looks to be the sleeve portion (above the threaded area) of a Victorian traveling shaving brush. Nice find, Breezie

    Definitely not a serviette ring. Not to British standards, and the sterling would be on the inside. That makes the brush thing more plausible.
