It is Sterling, but what?
Hello All,
Dug this sterling piece today. I believe it is to small to be a napkin holder bit not sure. Oh sorry for the upside down Sterling mark. Thanks for looking and helping.

Re: It is Sterling, but what?
It looks like the top of a shaving brush.
The piece that holds the bristles to the handle.

I thought napkin holder, so out of ideas, although worth checking how small the diameter goes

Re: It is Sterling, but what?
I think Sean is right. It looks to be the sleeve portion (above the threaded area) of a Victorian traveling shaving brush. Nice find, Breezie

Re: It is Sterling, but what?
Definitely not a serviette ring. Not to British standards, and the sterling would be on the inside. That makes the brush thing more plausible.
