ETU Cadet button help needed

A friend found an ETU Cadet button and we have determined that it is an East Tennessee University cadet listed as Albert's SU107.
However, we cannot find anything on East Tennessee University. There is an East Tennessee State University but we don't think it fits with the button. It was started as a Normal school in 1911 to educate teachers.
Sorry, I don't have a picture but it is an eagle with ETU across the top and Cadet across the bottom. Also, he found the front only, so no backmark is available.

Thanks for the reply. I did a search on UT Knoxville and got some good info on it's history.
