    Lead star thing with hole

Wondered if anyone knew what this was. It is lead. One of the points is broken off. I found this in an old house lot that was torn down a few years ago. The house dated back to late 1880's to 1900. the back side has a recess around the hole like maybe a picture went in there? Thanks.

My thought is it is a bezel to hold something...like a picture (as mentioned) or coin, or stone. Probably was a pendant for jewelry, the hole may have been in the piece that broke off. Just my thoughts.....

Reminds me of a reflector that goes behind a Christmas tree string of lights bulb, but I never saw one made of lead. Monty

I think it's a Badge ,the central part was removed on the broken tip that had a hole for the chain.

A lot of similarity, no doubt, but, would a badge have been made of lead, as opposed to bronze or brass? Just a thought.
