    Rev War Naval Button?

I think it is, however I'm trying to pinpoint exactly if it is. Anyone have this in any of their books.

here are a couple of links I found that sort of match, but I'm not sure exactly.

or is it just a civilian button?

    Thanks for looking

Yes, a Rev War era British Royal Navy Captain's button. There's many variants so doesn't really matter if it's not an exact match.

I'd say your button is probably shown in Military Buttons of the American Revolution as there is quite a few listed. The style of the anchor groups it in with the early ones.

Yes, I've actually seen my avatar a time or two when searching images, and have come across pics by Romeo many times for some odd reason.

Well let me say that I bought my book at the right time. I think I paid some where around $80.00, several years back. As I just found out the book is very rare and out of print I think. I checked amazon to see if they had one and they do, well I almost grapped my pants, check out the asking price, I will tell in advance, how much money are you willing to spend. This book has British, American and the French armies of this time period, if you get get a copy cheap or Evan see one buy it. I had no idea of how rare it might be, here is the asking price on amazon.
$999.97, and $3.63 shipping. Ouch, man I feel kind of lucky, I would check EBay to see if there is acopy..NT

Then I must be sitting on a gold mine having received the book from the man himself.

I wish it were true, but I think this book is still pretty easy to get. Cost is about $40. But do you know there's a new, and much better one just around the corner.

I thought the asking price was out of this world, I know that there is another up dated book coming this spring, the book I am told will cover belt plates, gorgots and more. I sent Mr. Troiani a message and he said that the books do carry a hefty price, but what the seller is asking, well, not this year or next. Just take alook on amazon and you will see the asking price.

It's his follow up to this one and has been in the works for quite sometime, and as far as I know hit the printer many weeks ago. Will again have buttons - updated of course, and also include plates and relics. I'll definitely be buying a copy once it's available.

I've seen that before on two other books I have... Breen coin book, and Dating Buttons (Tice). I'm looking forward to the new book as there really isn't anything else like it available.
