Is this part of some kind of flask?

I found this in the attic of a very old home I own. House is circa 1810. Pulled it out of a pile of rubble under the attic floorboards. The main material on the scalloped body "gives." It almost feels like hard rubber. The black tip is solid with a hole. Would love any help that is out there!

It is a bit too small for a hot water bottle. I believe you have part of an early feminine hygiene device.
