Lead Ball? or what...

Found on an old school site in bentonville, arkansas also civil war activity in the area - US bridle rosette found within a hundred yards. - non-magnetic, 1" in diameter, possibly lead, although looks like it was -painted black at one time. Thought originally it was being used as a marble...any guesses?

Second picture compares with a 1 1/4" cannister shot and a .87 cal parrott gun shot
