Curiously shaped cylindrical rock..Ancient pestle? Petrified wood?

When I was around 12 I found a uniquely shaped rock/stone off to the side of a riverbed at a campsite near Granite Falls, Wa. I have kept it ever since, always wondering and definitely hoping that it was more than just a rock. I have never seen a rock shaped like this before, it is oddly Phallic and resembles some type of pestle or tool to me. One end is slightly worn away like it was continually used to grind or ground things up. Though I acknowledge this may just be wishful thinking.
It is approx. 6 1/2 inches long and that is really all I know about it. This is my first post/submission and this site and you all seem amazing! I'd greatly appreciate some expert input! Thanks.

Your piece does resemble the Phallic Effigies found down here in my area, it does not appear to to worn enough to be a pestle.

The striations and markings lead me to think it's a piece of fossilized wood.
